So, you guys know I'm going to England IN EIGHTY days. OMG. I'd love to bring a few recipes with me to make while I'm there. Things that are "American", if you will. I've been thinking and thinking of what screams American! food and other than hamburgers and fries I ain't got much.
Also, being a vegan means I avoid meat and dairy products. So basically I'm asking for the nearly impossible. American foods that are vegan, or at least vegetarian-friendly. I am pretty well adept at altering recipes to make them vegan-friendly unless it's like a steak on a plate, obvs.
Also, I happen know that they don't have Double Stuf Oreos where I'm going because we ate the shit out of those things while they were here visiting. I intend on packing some to bring with me. (Unless I eat them all!) What other treats should I bring? I'd like to get a few little things for everyone to try.
A little help, please!

Maybe think Texas food instead of American food? Like your favorite salsa, hot sauce, stuff like that? I know when I go to foreign places, it's always mexican or spicy food I miss the most.

OK, I don't know about England but in France they didn't have peanut butter M&Ms. A friend sent me a giant bag of them and my classmates went crazy for them.

Dr. Pepper? What about girl scout cookies? Spaghetti? Pizza?
I made a Vegan chili last night. I can email you the recipe.

Wow, these all sound delicious! I agree with the candy bits, those travel well and who doesn't like candy, right?! Maybe you could troll some forums on this topic?

something that was not very present in Europe when I was there is PEANUT BUTTER...I suggest bringing a jar, or making something like these http://www.thesweetslife.com/2010/02/peanut-butter-chip-brownies.html or the ingredients to make this http://www.thesweetslife.com/2009/09/frozen-peanut-butter-pie.html

I don't know if it is the same in England, but when I lived in Germany they didn't have marshmallows.
You can bring them and make some American Smores :)

I second the notion of bring candy. Sweets in England ARE better but the novelty is awesome. My fam in the UK loves trying all the American candy. I'm trying to think of other ideas but am totally blanking.
