A little about me

  • I'm Kristie and this is my little corner of the Internet. I don't have the most well written blog and I often get my punctuation wrong but I have a good time writing about random things. There's a lot of random. Fair warning.

  • Prana Acai Cabbie Hat (from REI): $28 I needed a warm yet cute hat for traveling to Europe. I think this is super cute and it definitely seems to keep my ears warm.

All I can say is wow.

Raven

Well, no. I can say more than that. My high school boyfriend went to prison for beating up a hooker. She was in the phone book under the guise of being a masseuse but a hooker is what she was. I didn't find out that is what actually went on, until I was in the courtroom by his side and they started in on the trial. He told me he got in a fight with another dude.

Apparently they got into a dispute over money.

It boggles the mind, the types of people that are in this world.

Oh don't we all have a guy or two like this in our past. Mine raced motorcycles and called me to tell me about the girls he'd cheated on me with. And yet? I still thought we could work it out.

Jennie

Holy shit! I didn't know this. What a crazy story, and I'm just really glad you had your mom to care about you and put an end to this. Not all girls are as lucky as you.

I totally feel you on this. The man I married hid the fact that he was a felon, and had 3 kids and was previously charged with beating his previous wife. I love how you share you life with us and show everyone that we aren't alone.

WOW. I'm so glad your mom did what she did. It's amazing how young love can blind us. But then again, I'd like to have more of a balance of seeing the good in people than I do now - I just needed a happy medium.

I remember being SO scared for Kristie. I had to figure out a way to impress to her how this relationship was so wrong on so many levels. When I called the DA and found out the truth I was impressed when he said I could bring Kristie in to talk to him. He was very professional and asked me first if I wanted Kristie to see those pictures. As much as I didn't want her to see those pictures, I wanted much more for her to realize that there are some "not nice" people in this world. On one hand I am so sorry that Kristie still has those images in her mind, but on the other hand I was so relieved that this stopped her cold from continuing any kind of a relationship with this boy. BTW - this was a life lesson for me as far a being a mom - NEVER LET YOUR CHILD TURN INTO A MALL RAT - you don't have a clue what they are doing even though they promise you that they'll be good. (I never knew you got into someone's truck - you could have been abducted. OMG - the things you find out about your children once they are grown.) Love ya sweetie. I am so glad that you made it pretty safely to adulthood.
